Understanding the Terminology

'Fatty liver' is shorthand for conditions in which fat accumulates in liver cells — commonly MASLD (formerly NAFLD). Doctors diagnose and stage these using history, examination, imaging and sometimes scores or biopsy. Websites cannot do that, and symptoms alone cannot confirm or exclude the condition. If you have been told you have a fatty liver, keep your clinician's exact wording and follow-up plan; if you suspect it unassessed, get assessed first.

Patterns That Generally Support

Public-health guidance is consistent and unglamorous: mostly home-cooked meals; vegetables and whole grains; protein at meals (dal, eggs, paneer, fish, chicken as preferred); fewer sugar-sweetened drinks and refined snacks; minimal or no alcohol; gradual sustainable weight change where relevant; regular movement. Familiar Indian meals fit this scaffold — the work is proportions and consistency, not superfoods.

What This Website Will Not Claim

No 'reversal' promises, no grade-specific cure claims, no detox products, no suggestion that diet replaces imaging, monitoring or prescribed medication. Some people with early-stage disease improve substantially with sustained change; outcomes are individual, and no honest source promises yours in advance.

Working With Your Clinicians

Bring your clinician's guidance into any nutrition conversation. If advised weight change, ask what pace they consider appropriate. Never adjust medication based on general reading. Attend follow-ups — food patterns cannot tell you what your liver is doing; only monitoring can.

Preparing an Enquiry

Supportive guidance around a diagnosed fatty liver goes through the medical nutrition enquiry. 'Fatty Liver' is an optional condition checkbox; diagnosis details stay with your clinician, not the form.
